Inspirational Career Advice

Steve Jobs once said, “People with passion can change the world for the better.” Asked about the advice he would offer would-be entrepreneurs, he said, “I’d get a job as a busboy or something until I figured out what I was really passionate about.” That’s how much it meant to him. Passion is everything.

Although he dropped out of college, here is his 2005 speech he gave to graduates at Stanford University recounting three stories from his life and their impact on his career.

Steve Jobs’ career advice here is poignant, moving and so true.

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.

  • Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
  • They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
  • Stay hungry. Stay Foolish.
